Light Scattering by Pure Water and Seawater: Recent Development

Figure 7

Changes in absorption () and scattering coefficient ( for a-channel and for c-channel) of pure water that would be measured by AC meter a-channel (a) and c-channel (b) when water temperature decreases from 20°C in the lab condition to 10°C in the field and salinity increases from 0 to 34 g kg-1 in the field. and are the total temperature and salinity correction that should be applied to the AC meter’s a- and c-channel, respectively. The dash lines are the typical precision (±0.001 m-1) of the AC meter at a 4 Hz sampling rate.
