PMA2022 will be held October 28–31, 2022 in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, China.
The symposium aims to bring colleagues together in exploring the frontiers of functional-structural plant models (FSPMs), including modeling principles, computation algorithms, simulation techniques, and visualization methods, from molecular to ecosystem scales. FSPMs enable dissecting entire plants into individual components at different scales and thus provide a comprehensive description of structural-functional processes. The field of plant phenomics is rapidly developing, allowing access to phenotypic traits at various scales. The complementarity and synergy between plant models and plant phenomics will be one of the focus points of the symposium. Top scientists will be invited to share cutting-edge knowledge and experience in plant modeling.
The scope of this conference includes, but is not limited to:
- Plant architecture modeling and visualization
- Functional-structural plant modeling (FSPM)
- Plant phenotyping
- Data acquisition and processing for plant models
- Model parameterization, analysis, and evaluation
- FSPM-assisted plant breeding
- Modeling and simulation of plant ecosystems
- Plant and landscape visualization
- Digital twins for agriculture and parallel systems
- System simulation and implementation
- Plant modeling for climate change, carbon cycle, and sustainability
- Applications of plant models for smart agriculture and forestry

Submission Instructions and Deadlines
Authors must first send their abstract in English to the conference organizers for review (firstname.lastname@example.org). After a rapid review by the conference program committees, select authors will be invited to submit a full paper to the PMA2022 Special Issue in Plant Phenomics.
Those articles must be original research, not published elsewhere; review articles around the topics are also encouraged. All articles will go through a rigorous peer-review process as per the journal norms. Authors of accepted publications will be subject to the journal's article processing charge (read more here).
Paper submissions must follow the journal's Instructions for Authors. Upon submission via the Plant Phenomics online submission system, authors should indicate in their cover letter that the submission is intended for consideration in the PMA2022 special issue. For inquiries, please contact Dr. Ya Guo (email@example.com) or Dr. Véronique Letort - Le Chevalier (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Abstract Submissions Due: May 30, 2022
Full Paper Submissions Due: September 15, 2022
All papers will be published online after acceptance.
